The U.S. Navy Is About to Get a New Nuclear Attack SubmarineThe United States Navy will commission a new Virginia-class attack submarine—the future USS Washington (SSN 787) on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia. Thomas Dee, who is performing the duties of the Under Secretary of the Navy, will deliver the ceremony’s principal address. “The future USS Washington is among the most technologically advanced platforms in the world,” Dee said in a statement.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein issued the warning in a speech in Annapolis, Md., saying that negotiating with technology companies hasn't worked. From a report: US researchers measured the black carbon found on 1,300 larks, woodpeckers and sparrows over the past century. They've produced the most complete picture to date of historic air quality over industrial parts of the US. The study also boosts our understanding of historic climate change.
